Professor Iain E. Richardson, the founder of Vcodex, is an internationally known and experienced expert witness on video compression, streaming technology and standards. He has testified about technologies including MPEG-4, H.264 AVC, H.265 HEVC, VP9, AV1, MPEG-DASH and HTTP Live Streaming (HLS).

Professor Richardson has testified at deposition and trial at numerous cases since 2007. He is the author of four widely cited books and many research papers on video compression coding. Professor Richardson has a deep knowledge of software and hardware technology for video coding and the unique ability to explain complex technical issues in a highly accessible way.
